Physical Therapy at Dr. Jeff Davis Chiropractic

Dr. Davis understands that no two patients are exactly the same. There are some common and predictable patterns, but how these patterns present themselves varies depending on each patient. Dr. Davis will provide a thorough physical therapy analysis in order to correctly determine what treatment to provide each patient. He will then analyze any movement dysfunctions in order to properly diagnose and provide patients with the best treatment and management strategies.

In addition to aiding with common pain symptoms and conditions, physical therapy is very helpful when it comes to helping athletes return to their respective sporting activities following injury.  Regular visits to Dr. Davis can help athletes heal faster after suffering a sports injury and can prevent such future injuries. Physical therapy also assists with other functions that many people may not be aware of. Flexibility and range of motion are things that are often taken for granted as they enable people to perform most daily activities. Similarly, problems with balance make it difficult for people to maintain stable and upright positions when standing, walking and even sitting. Dr. Davis provides physical therapy to help improve a patient’s flexibility and balance. He also works to rebuild any weakening of these areas that were directly correlated to an injury.

Physical Therapy Modalities Provided by Dr. Davis

Cold Laser Therapy: Cold laser therapy is a non-invasive, painless, low level laser. The laser stimulates damaged tissues, promotes natural healing in the body, and provides relief from pain and inflammation. Laser therapy is a proven technique used across the world. It is extremely popular as it provides effective pain relief without the need for surgery or medication.

Soft Tissue Therapy: Soft tissue therapy is a modality that helps to optimize function in the muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerve connections by restoring the areas. It also helps to alleviate musculoskeletal pain and to treat both athletic and non-athletic injuries. It, too, has the added benefit of improving strength, wellness and flexibility within the body.

Electric Muscle Stim: Electric muscle stim is a physical therapy modality used by Dr. Davis at his practice. Electric muscle stim is used to stimulate muscle contractions using electrodes hooked up to an electric stimulation machine. These contractions help to manage inflammation, strengthen the muscle and control pain.
